There was a period where “good style” was synonymous with minimalism: the same colours, the same fabrics, the same old wardrobe staples. And while we’ll always love a classic, we’re thrilled fashion is moving in a more playful, fearless direction. Call it the “new individualism”. Nowadays, the best-dressed women are reaching for items that scream “me”. Think: decorative embellishments, playful details, unexpected colour combinations, and head-turning accessories. It’s about reaching for those pieces that spark joy, and not being afraid to stand out.  

What does that look like this season? Well, it looks like Aje revamping the traditional minidress with a puffball hem (just add a low-heeled slingback and a delicate pair of earrings). It looks like Sandro deconstructing the rules of suiting with a slashed-down vest-and-shirt set (best paired with low-slung jeans and sky-high heels). It’s Acne Studios making Warhol-esque tromp l’oleil jeans in baby pink (just add a sky-high heel). Self-expression is the order of the day, which covers everything from after-dark dressing to day-to-day accoutrements. At Incu, Peachy Den's Fernando top brings bold colour and playful ruching to off-duty style.

And of course, no expressive outfit is complete without giving serious consideration to jewellery. Swarovski’s new creative director, Giovanna Englebert, is a master of individual dressing, which is why we love her off-beat chunky jewel-tone necklaces so much. Lovisa’s new-season pieces offer variations on the same theme, eye-catching gems on delicate bracelets and chunky cocktail rings. At Kivari’s ‘Aureli’ earrings prove that maximalism doesn’t mean sacrificing elegance, while Michael Kors’ mirror-effect slingbacks bring new heights to even the most staid corporate ensembles.

This season is about being iconic, which has never been about dressing like everyone else. It’s about crafting a wardrobe that feels unmistakably yours – find what you love and wear it with confidence.
