Game On

Forget head-to-toe athleisure. This season, fashion is borrowing the best bits from the gym, dance studio and great outdoors and seamlessly incorporating them into your everyday wardrobe.

There’s something sporty happening to fashion this season, but it’s not your run-of-the-mill “activewear”. Forget wearing leggings from yoga to your Saturday morning coffee. This trend is more nuanced, it’s about a light-touch integration of sportswear into all aspects of your day-to-day wardrobe. Think: loose-fitting trousers with drawstring detailing, dancewear accents on daytime tops, feminine hybrid sneakers worn with pointelle socks and lightweight blouson jackets that go with, well, just about everything. Here, we breakdown the four key pieces to buy.

Modern proportions meet everyday ease. This lightweight jacket has an elasticated waist to create a peplum profile that sits perfectly over jeans and pants. It features a centre front zip opening and high funnel neck. Pair it with our matching Harem Pant for a relaxed look with soft volume.

Unison | $179.95

A versatile and unexpected recovery silhouette. RX MARIE JEANNE reinterprets traditional fashion codes, merging them with technical recovery footwear. A must-have in any summer footwear quiver, its minimalistic monochrome design is an understated expression of style that’s both technical, cosy and ultra versatile. Built for everyday wear, any time, any place, on anyone.

Salomon | $240

High-waist trousers crafted from a viscose blend. Featuring front pleats and side pockets hidden in the seams. Front fastening with zip fly, interior button and metal hooks.

Zara | $69.95

Short, fitted cardigan in a soft knit. Features a V-shaped neckline and a wrap front with wide ties on one side. Long sleeves and ribbing at the cuffs and hem.

H&M | $44.99

The Blouson

If there’s one jacket to know this season, it’s the blouson. Cropped, slightly voluminous and cinched neatly at the waist, the silhouette sits somewhere between a bomber, a windbreaker and a sports jacket. The best versions are refreshingly unfussy: funnel necks, zip fronts, elasticated hems and featherweight technical fabrics that make them ideal for throwing over your most beloved off-duty ensembles.

Contemporary and directional, the Spencer Spray Contrast Jacket reworks casual outerwear with bold contrast panelling in rich chocolate, charcoal and warm tan tones. A sharp funnel neck and zip-through front define the cropped, boxy silhouette, while a drawstring hem and buttoned cuffs add a considered, sporty edge.

 KOOKAÏ | $270

Windproof Stand Blouson

UNIQLO | $99.90

Perfect for skiing or hiking in colder conditions, this insulated mid layer features merinoLoft insulation in two weights to help optimize body temperature during activity.

icebreaker | $559.99

Soft touch comfort with a studio ready edge, the Studio Jacket is crafted from a cotton blend in a grey mini check with a neat bomber inspired silhouette, high athletic neckline and adjustable cuffs that help trap in warmth.

Lorna Jane | $230

The Soft Shoe

After years of chunky trainers – and the seemingly endless reign of the Samba – shoes are getting softer. This new wave straddles the line between sporty pragmatism and soft femininity. On the more utilitarian side we have New Balance’s supple suede lace-ups, Salomon’s hiking-adjacent Mary Jane’s and Vans’ hybrid mules. Puma (available at Platypus) and Nike are leaning further into the contrasts: the former’s Speedcat Ballet shoe features lace and velvet ribbon detailing, while the latter's Air Rift shape comes in soft lilac with floral motifs. Our advice? Style with a frilly pointelle sock to really nail the look.

Slide in and strap up. The Nike Air Rift pairs a chic split-toe design with the comfort of Nike Air cushioning. A mesh upper gives this version a breezy, lightweight feel.

Nike | $160

The MT10 descends from the original Minimus Trail 10, combining an ultra-lightweight feel with a rugged, outdoor-inspired aesthetic. The MT10T model features a deconstructed ballerina-esque upper for a fashionable twist on a classic.
The Vans Super Lowpro Mule brings casual comfort to your rotation in a versatile beige colourway. Inspired by the classic Lowpro, this slip-on sneaker features a soft premium suede upper with lace detailing for an adjustable fit and elevated everyday look.

VANS | $149.99

The iconic Speedcat sneaker returns in a low-profile form with the women's Speedcat Ballet from Puma. Landing in a Maroon colourway with Off White details, this sneakerina has a low profile silhouette paired with sleek details inspired by motorsport racing. The shoe's popularity has taken it from motor racing to the fashion world, with its vibrant colours and easy to wear design making it a must-have staple for your sneaker rotation. Crafted from a Suede upper for an elevated look, a rubber outsole underneath provides traction, and adjustabe bands over the foot for a locked-in feel. Finished off with the signature PUMA formstrip to the sidewalls, and the iconic PUMA silhouette embroidered to the toebox.

JD Sports | $160

The Fluid Trouser

Our search for a convincing alternative to denim is endless, and this season’s answer is the soft trouser. Fluid, wide and deliberately easy, these bottoms take the comfort of your trusted track pants and blend them with more elevated fabrications, cuts, and detailing. Wear yours with a fitted tank or minimal wrap top and you’ve landed on the easiest off-duty uniform of the summer.

Introducing the Taupe Ash StretchShift Wide Leg Pant: an elevated functional style that redefines your all day active wardrobe. These pants are designed for life outside of the gym, becoming your go-to essential.

LSKD | $140

Do it with flare. The iconic style of a five-pocket pant in cottony yet structured fabric for all-day comfort. This version has a subtle flare.

Lululemon | $179

Lightweight, breathable, weather-resistant wide-leg softshell pant for day hikes.
The pant the whole Trinity family depends on. High rise, clean tailored extended waistband and angled front pockets in bone. The matching blazer is technically optional, but we have opinions.

DISSH | $149.99

The Ballet Wrap

Balletcore is all grown up. Rather than bows, tutus and overtly girlish styling, SS26 is interested in elegant nods to the world’s chicest performance art. Ballet-inspired wrap tops are all the rage, from the functional (Stylerunner’s chocolate brown style available with matching leggings) through to the purely aesthetic (layered takes at Incu, KOOKAÏ, and H&M). Keep the style grounded in the everyday by reaching for low-slung denim and – dare we say – a simple ballet flat.

Effortlessly elegant, the Stylerunner Ballet Wrap Top is crafted from a soft, lightweight modal blend that drapes beautifully with a smooth, fluid feel. The wrap-front silhouette features an adjustable self-tie fastening and a deep V-neckline for a feminine finish.

Stylerunner | $79.99

Designed for versatile styling, the Double Halt Wrap Top features two detachable pieces that can be layered together or styled separately. Crafted from a soft cut-and-sew jersey blend with a touch of silk for a premium feel, it combines a classic long-sleeve wrap top with an adjustable halter-neck inner layer.

Incu | $160

Fluid and effortlessly feminine, the Wren Wrap Top is crafted in our luxuriously soft Pima 200 fabrication and features a deep V-wrap neckline with a self-tie at the waist for an adjustable, flattering fit. Thumbholes at the cuffs add a refined, close-fitting finish to the long-sleeve silhouette, which skims the body cleanly from shoulder to hip. Wear tied at the front or wrapped to the back for an understated, considered look that works across both day and evening.

KOOKAÏ | $90

Slim fit activewear top in soft modal jersey. Features a deep, V-shaped neckline and a wrap front with ties that wrap and tie around the waist.

H&M | $44.99
