For this Spring Summer season, it’s all about taking classic summer staples and elevating them. The trusted sandal gets a decidedly sharp upgrade thanks to minimal leather iterations from the likes of Rodd + Gunn and Unison, the button-down shirt is reworked in eye-grabbing prints, the traditional chino is replaced with a flattering wide-leg pant. This season, the fashion world is obsessed with all things rugby. Oversized, rugby-inspired knits will be your go-to in warm weather outerwear. Have fun with unexpected colour combinations, like R.M. At Industrie, the ‘Cambridge’ pant takes the wide-leg to exaggerated proportions, while the ‘Trawler’ pant from Incu is a stylish update on the traditional chino. The Hawaiian shirt may be a tad kitsch, but its cousin – the statement-making summer button down – is having a serious moment this season.
