To help celebrate their 60-year anniversary, AQUILA have designed a tailored collection of menswear garments crafted completely in Italy from some of the world's most renowned mills and fabric houses; the highest sartorial standard available.

For this special collection, small runs of exclusive fabrics have been utilised to create a “hands on” garment. Meaning, many of the process involved in created the Altair collection are, where possible, sewn by hand.

Because of this, the pieces have an incredible lightness and softness. For example, the tailored suit jackets fit perfectly, with a soft drape. It’s these suits that are made from typically 40 components, which tells a story of the time, effort and skill that goes into its crafting process.

There has been a great emphasis on fabrics when designing the Altair collection. Aquila has used fabrics that are soft to touch; unique in colour with a true fashion sensibility. The wool pieces are crafted by VBC 1663, which, as its name suggests, has been making woollen cloths in Northern Italy since 1663. The suiting pieces are spun from a super 150’s wool, which ensures a super lightweight, comfortable and quality design, sourced from a very limited handful of Australian wool suppliers. The linen derives from Solbiati, one of the best linen houses in the world. Solbiati were the first to propose a softened and naturally creased linen, thus inventing the ‘creped’ linen.

Altair is a truly special collection of tailored garments that one will have for years to come.

The Altair Collection is exclusive to Aquila, and is available in limited quantities. Altair is available in AQUILA Chadstone now.
