MUJI Australia continues its rapid growth plans down under, announcing a much anticipated expansion and relocation of its Chadstone store.

MUJI will unveil the new store this coming August, with a floor space of over 1700sqm making it the largest MUJI store in Australia.

Located on the Lower Ground Level near the Shopping Centre’s newly renovated ‘Food Atrium’, the store will boast an array of household furniture items new to the Australian market, along with MUJI’s signature minimalist clothing for men, women and children, skincare, stationery, bedding and travel goods.

The new concept store will offer customers an opportunity to explore, experience and immerse themselves in the iconic Japanese retailer. These experiences will include MUJI Books, MUJI Labo – a new garment capsule range, an embroidery station, a dedicated kid’s play area, Melbourne to Go concept featuring things to do in Melbourne, and self-serve coffee facility. The most important element to the new store will be Open MUJI, which is where workshops and exhibitions will take place, and is ultimately the ‘heart’ of the store and the centrepiece to the experience.

MUJI was founded in 1980 and opened its first Australian store in 2013. The Japanese retailer currently has five locations across Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra with plans to continue to expand its Australian footprint further.

Doors will open at the end of August 2019 and will offer a number of special offers and limited-edition offerings to celebrate this exciting moment for MUJI in Australia.
