Japanese retailer MUJI will unveil its largest store in Australia with a new location in the iconic Chadstone Shopping Centre on Thursday 29th August 2019.
The first 100 customers to walk through the new doors on 29th August will be welcomed with a limited-edition MUJI goodie bag designed in collaboration with Japanese calligrapher Junko Azukawa, containing a collection of MUJI favourites. The calligrapher, Junko Azukawa has exhibited at a number of galleries in Australia (including the National Gallery of Victoria, NGV) and Japan. She has also been featured on major media publications throughout the country.
Situated on the Lower Ground Level, the highly anticipated new concept store is designed to encourage an interactive shopping experience, offering customers the opportunity to explore, experience and immerse themselves in the MUJI way of life. At the heart of the space is Open MUJI, a workshop and exhibition area designed to encourage learning and community involvement.
The store will also feature the Japanese retailer’s iconic minimalist style clothing for women, men and children, as well as homewares new to the Australian market. Skincare, stationary, bedding and travel goods will also be available, alongside MUJI Books – a thoughtfully curated range of books, MUJI Labo (a new garment capsule range), an embroidery station, dedicated kid’s play area, self-serve coffee facility and ‘Melbourne to Go’ space with recommendations of things to do in Melbourne.
Doors will open at the end of August 2019 and will offer a number of special offers and limited-edition offerings to celebrate this exciting moment for MUJI in Australia.
