Globally acclaimed New York-based Australian artist Cj Hendry, known for her hyper-realistic drawings and mass-attended exhibitions will return to home soil after four years to present Lost & Found at Chadstone.
Lost & Found promises to be a mind-bending journey that draws from Hendry’s signature blend of hyperrealism, playful design, and large-scale physical environments.
Chadstone is more than just a shopping centre; it’s a cultural hybrid space, a place where fashion, architecture, commerce, and contemporary art converge. With over 20 million visitors annually and a growing reputation for public art and design, Chadstone offers an unconventional yet apt setting for Hendry’s work, which thrives in liminal, high-traffic spaces.
The exhibition will be unlocked at Chadstone from 19 June - 20 July, including a school holiday program from 5 - 20 July.

This dedicated luxury installation will showcase Cj Hendry’s original artworks and editions for purchase, alongside an exclusive range of high-end collectible items. Here the key takes centre-stage, evoking ideas of security, secrecy and the quest for access. The key aligns with Hendry’s obsession with objecthood. She elevates mundane items into meticulous studies of luxury, identity, and desire. The key may now become a new symbol in her lexicon: equal parts precious object and utilitarian device.

Cj Hendry is known for her hyper-realistic hand-drawn artworks. From sketch to spectacle, Cj is flipping the art world on its head with her unconventional and playful approach that has captivated millions online, garnered widespread attention, and earned her a rapidly growing cult following.
Waiting lists for Cj's artworks often extend up to three years for commissions, with pieces taking up to 200 hours to produce.
Cj is well known for her large-scale exhibitions that align with her artwork collections. From her recent exhibition Flower Market, where customers made their own bouquet from over 100,000 plush flowers in 40 varieties, to her HOOPS sculpture for Art Basel Miami where anyone who successfully sunk 34 baskets in a row could claim the $1m USD prize, Cj’s work constantly pushes the boundaries of creativity and convention.
“I’m so excited to be bringing an exhibition to Australia after so many years – it’s a place that has always fuelled my creativity and inspired my work. Art should be for everyone, and I love pushing the boundaries to make it more engaging in fresh and unexpected ways. Partnering with Chadstone to bring this vision to life has been a dream come true. It’s all about breaking down barriers, inviting people into the world of art, and letting them curate pieces that truly speak to them.” - Cj Hendry
