WHAT IS THE TEDDY BEAR HOSPITAL?
Chadstone’s Teddy Bear Hospital works in conjunction with The University of Melbourne, and the Royal Children’s Hospital to create a space for kids to learn about medicine in a fun, safe and educational way.
HOW IT WORKS:
Chadstone’s Teddy Bear Hospital brings together medical and allied health students from The University of Melbourne to offer an educational and enjoyable introduction to the healthcare system using teddy bears! This allows children to feel more comfortable on their next visit to the doctor and allows medical students to hone their skills through a real-world experience interacting with some of their smallest patients.
Children can bring their own cuddly patients or choose a new furry friend from the Teddy Bear Shop. Throughout the event, students will guide kids through various medical appointments, helping them understand what to expect during their own visits.
Proceeds from ticket sales and teddy purchases go towards The Good Friday Appeal.
