VALENTINO GARAVANI ROCKSTUD X

Maison Valentino is pleased to present Valentino Garavani Rockstud X, a special project that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the ic onic Valentino Garavani Rockstud Accessories.

The project reflects the values of identity, inclusivity and community in which Pierpaolo Piccioli believes in. Rockstud X becomes a white canvas for new imaginary landscapes. An open lab that will feature collaborations with international designers, brands and artists that will give their own interpretation of the renowned “Stud”. The roman numeral “X”, that indicates the number 10, may be also intended as a c ollective signature, and a multiplying factor.

Valentino Garavani Rockstud story begins 10 years ago, and since then embodies a recognizable sign of the contemporary Valentino. The “Stud” is the essential symbol of Valentino’s accessories universe. The square and cruciform shape and the metallic personality, pay homage to Rome and to the Roman Palazzo, characterized by “bugnato”.

Pierpaolo Piccioli continues his process of resignification of the iconic codes of the Maison, where reality and dream, high and low, punk and bourgeois, couture and street cohabit.

Creative Director’s ultimate interpretation of the Rockstud family is the Valentino Garavani Roman Stud, a bold yet sophisticated evolution of the iconic stud introduced with the Diary Collection. Studs are enlarged in a macro version meaning unconventional expressivity. It becomes a subtle sign to define the new Valentino community and its own romantic, punk and not conformist attitude.

The open lab will start with a conversation between Pierpaolo Piccioli and the renowned British designer Craig Green, that will bring his distinctive approach to re-interpret the iconic stud, giving life to an unexpected piece.

This is the first of many collaborations and contributions to the Rockstud celebration, an open creative dialogue between Pierpaolo Piccioli and the fashion, artistic and cultural contemporary world.
